What Pro is for

Five pillars — scale, context, speed, identity, and what’s coming next.

Scale

Unlimited folders and items when five stacks isn’t enough.

Context

Workspaces switch whole sets of folders for home, work, or creative modes.

Speed

Search everything at once and jump to a folder with its own hotkey.

Identity

Custom folder images and themes so your launcher feels like yours.

Local by design

Transparency and control at every touchpoint — no cloud account required.

Your data stays on your machine

Folders live in local config files. License keys validate offline. No telemetry account, no forced sign-in, no training on your app list.

Offline Pro unlock

Activate in Settings → Pro with a key. Works offline after purchase.

Cross-platform license

One Pro key works on both macOS and Windows builds.

Soft limits, not hard walls

Free never blocks launching apps you’ve already added.

Pricing FAQ

Quick answers about Free, Pro, and licenses.

Why do I need something like ClutterDock?

Because modern work is multi-context — clients, creative tools, admin, personal — and the Dock is a single flat row. You either pin everything (noise) or pin almost nothing (constant search). Files, folders, and URLs don’t live cleanly next to apps. ClutterDock is the missing middle: named stacks for whole jobs, opened with one hotkey, without replacing the system Dock. Full story on the problem and solution.

Is ClutterDock free forever?

Yes. The Free tier stays free with core launcher features. Pro is optional for power users who need unlimited stacks and advanced tools.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. Pro is a one-time purchase. We may add optional cloud sync later; if we do, that would be a separate choice — not a forced conversion of Pro.

Does one Pro key work on Mac and Windows?

Yes. The same offline license format unlocks ClutterDock Pro on both platforms.

What’s the difference between Pro and Pro Multi?

Pro is a personal unlock. Pro Multi ($29) covers up to 5 devices — useful for home + work machines or a household under fair use.

How do I activate Pro?

After purchase you’ll get a key like SDPRO-XXXX-YYYY-ZZZZ. Open ClutterDock → Settings → Pro and paste it. No account required.

What happens when I hit Free limits?

You’ll see a clear upgrade prompt (for example, “Free includes 5 folders”). You can still launch everything already in your folders — we never lock your existing apps behind a paywall.

Mac says the app can’t be opened / is from an unidentified developer

Until ClutterDock is notarized with Apple Developer ID: right-click the app → Open the first time, or use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. This is normal for ad-hoc signed builds.

I used SlaveDock before — do I need to start over?

No. ClutterDock is the same product under a new name. Folders and history migrate from the previous Application Support folder. Your SDPRO-… license keys still work.
